We thought this was going to be a round trip walk but were very disappointed. After an hour walking through largely dead bushland we discovered the only way the walk is a round trip is if you have a canoe!! Saw some kangaroos and a...More

To be honest, the lakes are not that special. But it is nice to stretch your legs around Esperance so that is alright.

This walk is alongside Woody lake at the west side of the town (On the way to Cape Le Grand) and it is worth a walk. Not special but interesting and different to elsewhere in Esperence.

We did not see nothing special. It was hot and there was not any shadow to protect us. The kids just didn't want to do it.

Nice trail and reasonably well maintained. Main complaint is that there were no signs indicating how long the trail was or a map to show where you were. Confusing with several start points. Pick up a map before you go from the visitor Centre in...More

These wetlands are located 5 mins drive from town with some excellent walking trails. The Wetland Trail consists of 1.5km of timber boardwalks & 2km of bush trails. The trails winds through the wetlands, heath ridges & under Banksia canopies.

This is a lakeside trail that wanders though areas affected by die-back. It is a good attempt to educate people against the spread of the disease. Very sad to see the effects on the native vegetation.

Moving on the boardwalks with not a soul in sight, hearing only your own footsteps and breathing (read panting), getting scared by some sudden movement in the arid bushes are some of the few experiences one will encounter in this trail. Its a part of...More

We walked this trail for about 2.5 hrs (return); along three lakes - Wheatbelt, Woody and Windabout Lake. It is part of the Wetland area just 5 mins from Esperance town centre. Brilliant time.
