Had a lovely time at Chateau Tanunda. Vickie was a wealth of knowledge - not only related to the wine but also the history of this beautiful estate. We were very taken with her enthusiasm and love for Chateau Tanunda. All the staff were helpful and welcoming, and we particularly loved that cash was an accepted form of payment. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

This is one of those grand venues in the Barossa worth seeing even if you do not have a taste. The property rescue a credit to the owner which is well presented with other history on the Chateau inside this impressive building.
The ultra friendly staff at the tasting spoilt us with flexibility and generosity!
Highly recommend dropping while in Tanunda.

This winery is over 130 years old. The beautiful bluestone building alone is worth the visit. The cellar door is spacious and exquisitely laid out, with one wall detailing the history of the company. Sharon was our host and she was very knowledgeable about the wines they make. Their old vines collection is excellent, just a bit pricey.

Visited Chateau Tanunda on a Saturday afternoon for the Rare & Fine Wines Tasting Flight (private tasting) and it was fantastic! We were looked after by Sharon, who gave us a great overview of the wines and the differences between them. She also offered a very interesting history of the building, the grounds and the region in general, on top of an insight into the owner, the industry and the locals. She was wonderful as a host! Afterwards, we bought a couple of bottles and drank one by the fireplace. Probably the best wine tasting and winery visit I've ever done and will definitely be coming back one day.

Outstanding service and atmosphere. Vickie - who conducted our our wine tasting experience was very informative, attentive and made the visit very memorable. The building and grounds were outstanding and the atmosphere was fantastic. We also enjoyed some of the historical information displayed around the tasting and barrel room. We will be sure to encourage other Qlders to visit!

We attended the Faulty Towers Dining Experience. The show was fantastic but the food and food service was absolutely disgusting. The mail meal was cold and the food drops were all over the place. People were calling out for a meal when others had received there's on the same table and had finished. The dessert was a disgrace, sticky date which was the size of a 50cent coin no cream or icecream. Sorry but for the money would have expected so much more, it was like they were not prepared at all.

Beautiful venue, however very rushed tasting experience. Hadn’t finished each tasting & Bruce was standing at our table waiting to pour our next one. Not even 5 mins between pours. Had to ask each time about each wine- only told us the name of each wine. He didn’t seem very interested at all. A lots of wines were tasted - 10 in all, but a lot of wine to taste in 40mins. No time to savour or rest the palate. Would not go back considering so many other more amenable wineries. Big shame as such a beautiful place with great history.

They do not accept Hens days. We’re quite abrupt and rude about it. We are a small nice group of ladies not rowdy whatsoever.

Hi Melissa,
Thank you for sharing your feedback.
That is correct that we do not accept Hen's or Bux parties at our Cellar Door. We hope that you found a suitable venue.
Kind Regards,
The Chateau Tanunda Team

Do you charge more for large groups? If there are 15-20 persons, how much would you charge per person for such a group?

Hi. When we went it was a set price but there was only 3 of us. I am sure you could get a better price if you contacted them. The wine tasting was free for a few wines but the winery is beautiful if you just wanted to wander
Is there anything for kids to do there?

I didn't go there then, but most of the wineries in that area were open on Good Friday.
