We also visited the Wolf Blass museum in Hahndorf. The one here in Nuri, was just as interesting and worth a visit.

Doing the Wolf Blass lunch and tasting package (still good deal on Scoopon) is the way to do it. Tasty 3 course meal paired with WB wines is a civilized way to enjoy the food and wine together at ones own pace. This also gives you 25 % discount on any of the wines you may buy when tasting more wines in the adjoining main tasting section.

My Son and his wife took my wife and I to a lunch time tasting on the 17/07/2021 for my Birthday. The winery is a lovely venue set in pleasant surroundings. The pre lunch wine tasting was exactly that, small amount of wine just so you get a feel for the wine on offer. The lunch platters were well presented but a bit light side for four adults. The platters were served with another 5 glasses of wine for tasting. My Son had purchased a Groopon Voucher and for the money he paid the experience at Wolf Blass was well worth it. Cheers

Unfortunately this was a disappointment! We arrived to a tasting room full of people 5 minutes late and were told we could not sample the first wine until after lunch! The hostess was blunt, a bit officious, not at all warm or inviting. She was driven by a time line. After the tasting, we were all marched into dining room and told we had 15 minutes to eat the first course. The wines were unremarkable and many of the visitors left their tastings untouched. After the lunch finished, we all looked at each other and laughed. We realised there was no hostess to thank us for coming and so we all started filtering out of the room. I don’t think anyone went and purchased wine and we certainly didn’t bother to go back and taste the first wine that we missed. A curious affair and not one to be repeated or recommended.

My sister was visiting from NSW so thought I would get vouchers for lunch at Wolf Blass Winery. There were five of us, so I bought one for four people and one for two, thank goodness as my son was able to have one of the platters to himself.
The place is great, we had Wolf Blass wine tasting first, which was an unexpected bonus, we were given interesting information about the winery.
Then we went to lunch.
We had a lovely share platter to begin with, adequate amount of food, though absolutely nothing like what is pictured, the garlic bread is not a lovely long piece as pictured, but more like a piece one buys frozen at the supermarket. The pickles pictured look regular size but they're actually tiny, baby pickles. The piece of soft cheese served is not a wedge, but a very thin slice. We did have 40ml of five different wines to match the food, which was great.
The main, for me, was embarrassingly small. Since it was my choice, my pick, I was a bit mortified that the serve of salmon and steak were tiny, I'm not exaggerating. The salad was a good size, though no egg as pictured. Really, nothing was like it was pictured.
The cheesecake was roughly about 1 cm wide and about 7cm long, so small. I'm lactose intolerant, but this piece was so small, I knew I could safely eat it without any digestive problems.
The food was absolutely nothing like the picture, the picture gives one a false sense of serving size, they should be true to future customers and give a real representation of the portion size. Sure, it was $49 per couple, but we could have bought a decent size pizza and two full glasses of wine for that amount.
I didn't think it was value for money and I can't recommend this lunch.

I never thought about it before but the symbol for this winery is an Eagle - not a Wolf. This cellar door is set out in a circular formation to represent an Eagles Nest. Recommended visit.

Turned up to the visitor centre and had the whole place to ourselves. A lovely hostess provided individualized complimentary tastings and answered a bunch of questions related to wine without judgement and no pressure to buy. We did and walked out happy with our purchases. Great and clean bathrooms and plenty of parking.

Unfortunately arrived after a bus load of visitors so had to wait a bit for our tasting. Other than that all went well. We liked a few wines and purchased. Staff were friendly and helpful once we had their attention. Well laid out cellar door. Worth a visit.

We had a voucher for a 3 course meal with pairing wines. The wine were very good and went well with the food offered. The food was extremely good and very plentiful. We went with friends who enjoy it as much as we did. Would return without hesitation even though it is quite a distance to travel for us.
