If you're visiting the area you have to see Gab Titui. It's only small but the information and displays were interesting. You can have a stroll along the beach on your way there. Or stop at the café for a drink and/or bite to eat....More

A stunning building with great exhibitions and very nice cafe. Great food and service. There is also a nice little gift shop to purchase interesting local island artifacts and get a great close up understanding of local culture.

Was glad to see it would he open until 4:30pm Saturday after hearing stories of it not opening for cruise ship passengers earlier in the year. Great centre, thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

In my opinion and without prejudice, the real history of our war veterans up in the Torres straits is mainly on Thursday Island up at the old Fort and also in the Thursday Island cemetery. As a war veteran myself, I wouldn't waste my time...More

Visited here for lunch with a work colleague and found the food to be very good. Had a sandwich and some chips and found it reasonably priced with good servings.

Don't leave Thursday Island without going here. Wonderful history of indigenous and Aussie WW11 photos. Great little gift shop with great prices too.
