What an amazing area they have created in the heart of Southport. I haven't been here for 25 years and was amazed by the numbers of families that were attracted here. It has been cleaned up beautifully and is appealing to large numbers of tourists. The Gold Coast Council should be commended for what they have achieved. There are many parks and playgrounds to choose from, a splash park, netted beach area with diving pontoon and kilometers of cycling and walking tracks to explore. There are beaches, piers and Water Parks all surrounded by beautifully manicured gardens to sit and have a BBQ or picnic. Across the inlet is some great views of the much busier Surfers Paradise which is only walking distance. My kids would stay at the parklands all day if they could.

This place is the best. We got there early for the kids to play on the new peninsula playground. Such a great play ground with so much to do. My 4 and 6 year old loved it.
We then headed to the splash park for the kids to cool down before walking down further to the jumping pillow and another play ground.
Before we headed home the kids built sand castles and dipped their feet in the water.
Such a beautiful spot, def recommend for a family day out.

So much to do, caters for everyone with toilets, cafes & playground & BBQ areas nearby.
I enjoyed the mangrove habitat $ wAlking along the well marked pathways.
I took Hopo 1 to checkout the sites of the area on the water & it was a nice relaxing way to get around - took about 2 hours as a round trip.

This place is a favourite for all people who love Southport. You can walk for miles, (km) cycle, fish, picnic, swim to your hearts delight. There are cafes along the way.
It’s been a favourite of mine for many decades.

The play area near the aquatic centre was fun. The playground looked clean and so did the rockpools water area. Not very crowded at about 2-3pm. There is a cafe nearby but it is a bit pricey. Great for kids aged 2-10.

This whole area is set up for fun, fitness, relaxing, picnicking, people watching etc. etc. It is just a great place to do whatever. There are water activities, pedal bikes, bar-b-que facilities, interesting statues, great views over the Broadwater, open spaces, walking tracks and the list goes on. The whole area is very well maintained, clean and well designed.

Broadwater Parklands is a great place to take the kids to do a number of activities. There is a wading pool area for the littlies, a fun water park out in the Broadwater itself, even though we didn't do it people were lining up to get on. Everyone looked to be having a good time. Obviously for Xmas there was the giant inflatable slides not sure that they would be there all year round. There were the markets and carnival over three nights, Friday,Saturday and Sunday that were well attended. it was nice that we could walk to this from where we were staying at the Broadwater Tourist Park. It's such a pretty area and we had many bike rides, walks and runs along the Parkland. It was kept immaculate, the wading pool area was cleaned out every day and the pathways were blown off every day as well. No rubbish around. Well done Gold Coast council!
