This was my second visit to the Rail workshops Museum in Ipswich, and I was saddened to see the changes made by management to the facility. While most of the displays have not changed, they have dramatically reduced the number of staff in the cafe and gift shop. This resulted in poor service throughout, as well as the gift shop... More

The Qld rail workshop museum is not bad at all. We visited on a Friday afternoon. It was very Quiet and our daughter could do alot without been rushed. I have a feeling over the school holidays with the activities such as Thomas and friends the place would pick up.

An amazing collection of railway memorabilia to suit everyone. There are locomotives and carriages from every era of rail plus railway signs and equipment to stir up memories. The model railway will fascinate kids of every age. We were taken on a very informative guided tour by a rail veteran with an infinite knowledge and great sense of humour. A... More

A nice half day trip from Brisbane albeit a bit difficult to get to. The tour is essential because it takes you to the area where it is not open to general visitor not on the tour.

Took my grandkids here. Was awesome they may have been a little to young for some things but the bikes and lego building in the kids play area was a hit. Loved pushing the buttons to make the trains start up. Would be better if there was a place to eat and was move pram friendly

Variety of experiences for young and old, enthusiasts and interested onlookers. Hands on activities for kids and generous seating for parents while they watch the kids play and interact with the activities. Memorabilia well restored and some in the process. Great for visitors and local queenslanders. AMple parking and a good cafe and souvenir shop
