Poona Lake was fabulous! The walk there is somewhat longer then you think it will be but it's through a quiet and peaceful rainforest and then you arrive at the most peaceful and serene lake and you know that the walk there has definitely been...More

Bit hard to find but the kindred locals will help. Road in rough but useful, then a beautiful 30 minute trek through magnificent ferns and trees to the white sands bordering the lake. Be quiet and the birds reward you with their chorus's, fluttering round...More

Poona Lake was a lovely rustic picnic, relaxing and swimming destination. Don’t expect picnic tables, barbecues and toilets but think white sand to sit on, a quiet pretty place with trees, reeds and some water birds. Just a few km walk away are clean drop...More

I was a bit worried the walk would be tough, but it was amazing. The rain forest was spectacular. Not too easy a walk but not too hard. I wouldn’t recommend trying to get a stroller through as I saw someone trying to do. The...More

This place is definitely worth the walk! First you get to walk through the rainforest before arriving at Poona Lake to cool off after your walk. Nice little quiet place to sit & enjoy before taking the walk back you your car.

A bumpy gravel road to car park and lovely picnic area with information board and toilets. The walk is 2.1kms one way and quite strenuous in places. The scenery through bush walk was lovely, take water as very humid. After downhill walk the lake appeared...More

Had never heard of Poona Lake but thanks to trip advisor we were convinced to go. Exceeded our expectations. A beautiful walk through rainforest with enormous hoop pines and strangler opens out to a secluded pristine lake. We swam, snorkelled and explored the lake surrounds....More
