A dusty drive of about 3km takes you to what's left of the old whaling station. The main feature is the home which was self sufficient to the needs of the family. Down a few steps towards the beach, there are some artifacts that remain...More

Idyllic spot just a few km down a dirt track that is easy to find. Memories of the cruel business of rendering whales into oil. Beautiful cottage and gardens although a shame they are not open for inspection.

I discovered this historical site by accident, but had a lot of fun with the kids. The old buildings are in great condition and the remaining relics of the whaling operation are great to see. Lots of wildlife around, including deer on the beach!

Precede this visit with a trip to the Whaling Museum in Eden for fullest impact of what life was in these early pioneering times. Fascinating and reflective.

Easy drive to find,it's in the bush but not too far. Great place to really see some original history. The old homestead would have some great stories but you can only walk around the house & use your imagination, worth the drive. Free to visit
