Whilst on holiday in lloret my friend wanted to take a walk up to see the 'castle'. I offered to go with. We took a walk along the beach front and went up the steps to the 'castle' only to see the place we thought was the castle was actually someone's private residence with a plaque outside stating ' a... It's fantastic to look at from the outside, it's a hell of a way up to it. We were a bit gutted as we went at the time it was meant to be open. But we waited a long time and it didn't open. Apparently this happens a lot

A lovely long walk in the evening is great for this. Wear comfy shoes! I wore sandals and it was do able but not my wisest choice of footwear. The views from the top are well worth the long walk.

Do not look for a Castle as there is none! The entry price is 3 euros, but do not expect to see the insides of a castle as this is a simple tower. There is some information provided on site about Lloret de Mar's history, some small ruins and the rebuilt tower. You can go up to the tower and... More

Well signed and at least there was something to see once there ( see my comments on Turo Rodo Iberian settlement).Quite a steep climb in places with a lot of steps ( if this is an issue). Three euros entrance (half that for seniors) was proportionate for the what must be a hard job keeping the place in good order.... More

well we decided to make the trek uphill to see the castle and the views no doubt will see from there so set off from beach followed signs to castle and 1st pathway was blocked so had to turn around and try to decide how to get up as quite few paths none of which were signposted so made it... More

It's not easy to be found and then there is a fee to enter it - 3 euros if i am not mistaken. If you are coming from the Llloret Beach you can mistake the route - not everywhere are signs. Be sure to know beforehand its openning hours - we get there 10 minutes before closing...

I should preface this by saying I study medieval history and the mere prospect of a castle gets me quite excited, but this was really cool. The walk up from Lloret was so pretty, wish stunning views and good paths, and the admission fee was totally proportionate to the level of work I'm sure is needed to maintain the keep.... More
