Amazing beach! It’s a must see in Milos. September gets a lot windier so go early in September. The waters are extraordinary

Kleftiko is a breath-taking place that offers a unique sea experience.
It's hard to describe it by words.
We took a boat day trip with "Sailing Milos" (thanks guys, everything was perfect!) to get there, and we were blown away. Swimming in those waters is magic.

Kleftiko Beach is a beautiful and remote beach on the southwest end of Milos. Our boat trip could not reach it due to southerly winds, so we hiked to it the next day. The articles online indicated the hike could be dangerous due to poisonous snakes, but we didn’t see any and nor did anyone we talked to on the hike. The hike is about 1.5 miles and took us 45 minutes - it is much more uphill on the way out and you should plan for that.
We were lucky to come in the afternoon when everyone else was leaving, and no boats were coming, so we had the whole place to ourself.
If you approach from land, there is very little ‘beach’ to speak of - only a small rock outcropping to lay your stuff before you jump in. Don’t come expecting to lay out in comfort. But if you’re coming for the views and the water, it’s amazing!
The water is crystal blue and the sea cliffs are stunning. There are many sea caves that are easy to swim to and explore. We brought snorkel masks which were useful for swimming, but there are not significant fish or underwater features.
We would recommend bringing water shoes, as the ground is very rocky in most places under the water. And if you are hiking, wear comfortable and stable walking shoes.

Milos's nicest beaches are accessible only by sea, but are absolutely worth the cost of boating to see them!! My husband and I absolutely loved swimming in these crystal clear waters, and swimming through the caves was such a fun experience. Definitely a must see beach in Milos!!

Gorgeous part of the island! We visited on a boat trip and spent a good 2 hours here. The water was aqua in colour (unlike any sea I’ve seen below) and so clear and beautiful.
