This place is Beautiful. All you need to do is to Choose the correct time and Day. We Visited this place on a weekday around 7.30 AM. and Believe it or not we were the only visitor at that point of time.

We Spent almost two hours here and Did Boating , Clicked Pics and walked around.

Boating is just 50rs Per person and Most of the Photo-booth owner charges rs. 10 Only.

Overall a good Place to visit on weekday that too in early morning hours.

Must Visit (Avoid Weekends)

Yes! those are Lillies not lotuses and the forest comprises mainly of Eucalyptus trees, though there are many bamboos.
The lake is basically a segment of Gambhir river that makes the huge Yashwant Sagar lake a few kilometers ahead. The government must have planted the easy growing Lillies to convert it into, what is called, a 'picnic spot' in central India.
The place is too crowded on weekends or holidays. It is picturesque and serene if you could digest a bunch of water sucking Eucalyptus trees.

A very big lake full of lotus. Different colors. They take you in a self rowing boat. To reach the place takes time... but once you reach and you see the lotus... you really feel happy. While they take you in the boat - you can also pluck lotus with your own hands. A place to be seen and visited for sure.

I visited this place yesterday after 3 years. This place is completely ruined by so many tourists visiting there without any regulation. The place has reduced to a classic tikToker's destination. So many TikTokers shooting cringe there. Even many couples getting their pre wedding shoot done holding weird props. Couldn't spend more than 30 minutes as it was too crowded. We in MP do not value anything that nature has given us. The place would have been a paradise if it was there somewhere near Bangalore , Chennai , Hyderabad or Mumbai. We are our own enemies. Authorities must take control of this place.

As the name says, it is a Lotus Valley but we didn't find too many lotuses blossoming there. People said they blossom in the morning hours later you can see a few only. Good scenic area but overcrowded on Sundays and public holidays as people from Indore flood in here in large numbers to enjoy a day out. Actually the lack of picnic places near Indore has made this below average place more famous. It is not so attractive as far as natural beauty is concerned but good for a day out, to take some photographs. Local people sell local delicacies here including seasonal fruits and drinks. Some locals have installed swings in the valley area for entertainment of children and even adults enjoy them for a nominal charge.
For me, it was just ok as a one time visit, nothing much special about it. Next time, I won't go unless and until the place is flooded with water and there are lot of lotuses blooming in. May be in rainy season this place looks more beautiful but when I went in December, this was disappointing for me as I heard a lot about this place but found nothing much special.
Moreover the road to this place is in pathetic condition. So beware. If you love your car, better don't go here by own vehicle. Rent one and enjoy the day sitting in the back seat.

Around 25 km away from Indore. Up to Hatod village from Airport, road is good, but within Hatod and from Hatod to Gulawat, It's single road with too much damaged portion. The pond on Yashwant river is good to see full of Lotus blossoming. Though local villagers are trying to develop this place as tourist place but there is no good place to seat, relax for two hours. No eatery around serving refreshments, tea, coffee etc. So better bring your own picnic basket, picnic chair /table and mates. Boating is not permitted and that may be a disappointment looking to water body. Boating should be allowed with proper restrictions and instructions to boatman. Yes, this is a good place to visit in morning hours for picnic of around One hour and two hours for too and fro.with family and friends. Though Indore is a clean city but here one may find too much of littering. Proper washroom facility also not there.
