This can be a great place for a walk in either the morning or the evening. The hotel I stayed was right opposite the park, so I went here in the morning. Surprisingly I found lots of local company. There were senior citizens dancing, couples chitchatting, musicians practicing their instrument and athletes doing the trainings. I felt it was a... More

If you're doing a lot of long-distance traveling around Northwest China with major sightseeing and all sorts of new experiences, taking a little stroll through the People's Park and sitting down and relaxing next to the lake in the evening is a perfect change of pace and opportunity to re-energize.

I did not have much time in Xining as we were in transit to Yushu but we loved Peoples Park and did go to Bill's Place which is a restaurant on a street of wonderful coffee places and food on Xiadu Dajie street. Bill's Place had really good western food and nice staff who speak English well.

People park is very nice and peace to relax, especially with kids. Many games and activities. Best time to visit is May first week, you will see thousand of tulips! very beautiful and colourful. This is the peak time, many local people will visit park to get snap / selfie with tulips :)

Nice park that we went to after having lunch in the Java cafe. Lots of people out enjoying the park, having pic nice and playing Mah Jong. You could hire little electric cars - like golf buggies to go round in, or you could hire boats on the lake. All the peonies were out when we were there and they... More

This is truly a locals park. When we were there, people were socializing, playing games, spending time with their children, listening to music, organizing in dance. If you want to really see the town inhabitants, this is the place to go. It is special!

The park breathes long-lost glory. There's a little monorail train, boats on the water, some tables and tents. Like much things in China, the local government has tried to make it a tourist attraction but failed horribly. The worst part is the entrance where you have to go through a pet market with puppies, kittens and rabbits in cages as... More

This is a great place to visit as a tourist. It's a popular place for all people, non-visitors, tourists, and otherwise, and has many attractions. It has an almost carnival-like atmosphere with a few rides (small train, scary boat tunnel) and game stalls. Other areas include roller-skating and pedal boats on the small pond. One entrance is near an area... More
