The park is nice and quiet, not a lot of people. They try hard to attract birds here and make it a nice sanctuary. They built a fast train and tunneled the tracks to divert the noise from distracting the birds. I do enjoy coming here.

Bird paradise was just a park with a lake and a huge banyan tree island in the middle.

To take a boat ride to see the herons and Batam tree up close, you had to pay extra. There were not many birds but there were many little gift stores that sold bird whistles, dried mandarin peel, drinks, and snacks.

There is not much for visitors to do except to look at the banyan trees from the look out or to pay extra for a boat ride which will give them a better view of the herons. Of course there are plenty of gift shops

Was very pleasantly quiet when I visited with few people there, though with more visitors I can see this place not being quite as pleasant. Nice park with paved paths make for a pleasant walk. There seems to be an abandoned and overgrown school on the premises, with part of it being used as an observation desk type room, and other room being used as a mini museum/gift shop. Key focal point of the Paradise is an ancient tree that resembles a small island. A short boat tour is given with a Chinese-language-only audio track. Some beautiful herons to be seen, though only in quick glimpses as the boat seems to speed by them. In the big picture this is probably good as to not disturb the birds.

The famous Bird's Paradise is located in the southern part of Xinhui. Actually, the so-called bird's paradise is a 380-year-old great banyan covering an area of about 2.5 acres. The pure ecological environment has attracted thousands of birds living there.

Although, not many birds to see in November.

The little boat is quaint and charming and takes you on a relaxing trip meandering through the banyans and wetlands. Very well kept landscaping.

All in all, worth a quick look.

We went here at 3pm. The birds are hiding in center island. We saw only few birds flying on the area. Most of the birds are on the trees. Maybe due to hot weather. The river is clean and calm.

Very tranquil to take a boat ride. Enjoy the scenery and be amazed as you travel in and out of the large living tree.

This park has potentials but it needs maintenance. It is a wonderful concept to build a park sanctuary for the birds; however, there are few birds. The banyan tree in the middle of the park has been a sanctuary for the birds for almost 400 years. I hope they can get the birds back to the park. There is a building for viewing the tree and a nice gentleman giving us a history. Most of shops are empty and hardly anyone in the park.

This would easily be a five star review if there were more birds. Apparently all the tourists over the years have frightened the birds away. It will take years for them to return, if ever. So sad. But so typical of Chinese tourism.

My parents have taken me to this beautiful island when i was little and i still remember the scene of so many birds flying in all at once near night fall. This time we chose to hop onto the a wooden boat and experience the around the island tour. the tour turns out to be excellent and very relaxing. recommended but perhaps with a local or local tour guide.
