We visited the Horne Creek Farm today and enjoyed a golf cart tour of the resorted home and grounds. We also got a tour of things belonging to the family in the gift shop. I especially enjoyed the animals which included sheep, a donkey and numerous friendly cat. I was hoping to see a garden of early spring vegetables but... More

As frequent visitors to historic sites and natives of the North Carolina Piedmont, we weren't quite sure how we had missed going to Horne Creek before now. What a wonderful place! The farm is near the Yadkin River, not far from Pilot Mountain, with red clay fields surrounding you as you make your way in. The site has a small... More

We stopped by the farm on the way back to Winston Salem from Pilot Mountain on a whim and I am so glad we did. The farm is a treasure and the caretakers on duty were friendly and knowledgeable. Expect a tour with history about the family who owned and worked the farm from the early 19th century through the... More

We stopped by here to picnic on our way to Pilot Mountain. They have a small, but cute visitors center and a few picnic tables out back. It was decorated beautifully for the fall with displays around with pumpkins. It's a short walk to the actual farm, but an interesting view into a historical farm. It was heat to wander... More

Great place with great history. We visited just a few days before the festival they were having on Saturday. They were so busy getting ready that I don't think we got the full experience of visiting the farm.

Looking for something to do within a days drive of our home at Smith Mountain Lake, we found the Horne Creek Farm on the Internet. We stopped for breakfast on the way and arrived just before noon. When we entered, the lady said that 3/4 of her staff was not in and she was all alone. She was the head... More

This farm is a great stop for the whole family! After several miles of winding roads, we made it here. The lady at the gift shop was really nice, and we had a tour of the farm from a young man. He told us about the history of the farm, and how each part of the house and farm had... More

Looking for a half day reprieve from work and the ordinary; we ventured from Julian, taking the hour's drive to Pinnacle. We had visited there about 12 years ago when only the barn, fields, and the yet-to-be-restored home were the attractions. This now is a "jewel" among our state parks. The manager, Lisa, immediately heighten our interest in the Horne... More

This place was amazing. My family of 2 adults 2 kids went, we went hoping to explore the grounds a little bit and instead got a guided tour on a golf cart. The women doing the tour were amazing! Friendly, nice, funny, and very knowledgable. This was a step back in time. The women took our family on a personal... More
