There's not much to do here, there's only enough parking for a few cars at a time. You cannot climb this one, go to Hatteras or Bodie Island for that. If you are looking to stamp you National Parks passport, the stamps are not here, they are at the visitor's center close to the ferries. I think all lighthouses are... More

The lighthouse was beautiful but not open to the public That was a bit of a disappointment. The kids enjoyed running up the stairs and climbing on the fence for pictures.

Located in center of town. Walk way to lighthouse approximately 400 feet from parking.. Parking minimum but okay.

While we were staying in Avon, we decided we wanted to see all of the lighthouses on Outer Banks. Ocracoke lighthouse was cute but we only stayed a few minutes. There was not a lot to do at this site. Plus parking is extremely limited.

Take a few minutes and go off the beaten path to see the lighthouse. Currently closed to the public but there are markers out front giving information about the structure. The house is now a private residence.

It's off the beaten path but well worth the visit. You cannot go up in the lighthouse. But by visiting it gets you off the main road in Ocracoke. And you can drive around the side streets. There is very limited parking, as in like 5 spaces to park. And there is a 15 min limit on parking. But you... More

Closed; not open for public. Not very well maintained and I believe it can be skipped. Others are better in hatteras, etc

Quick trip to OBX resulted in seeing 5 lighthouses in less than 2 days. So much fun! This lighthouse is labor intensive to get to, as you have to ferry to Ocracoke Island 1 hour each way. The light house is pretty, but parking is super limited- there may be 5 spaces directly near the house. Id go again, with... More

Nice to go back after 20 years and find a landmark unchanged. We stopped and walked down towards the lighthouse for photos. Parking is limited.

Early spring adventure to Ocracoke Island. The lighthouse is absolutely beautiful this time of year, and probably beautiful the rest of the year.
