We headed for the Andy Griffith Museum even though we had been told that it was essentially a collection of artifacts from the filming location of the shows in California ( now long bulldozed), and of no real interest to us. The sculpture of Andy and Opie off to 1). spend some quality time together and 2). maybe catch a... More

My family loved the Andy Griffith show. We have a child in college nearby and drove to Mt. Airy to look around. The Museum was very crowded, but we went in anyway. We paid cash for our tickets. Please note there is a surcharge for using a credit card. The people working at the Museum are incredibly nice. We purchased... More

There are lots of photos and clothing and props from The Andy Griffith show as well as posters, etc. from his movie roles. It's not spectacular, but if you were a fan of Mayberry and happen to be in the area, don't pass it by! Another part of the museum is dedicated to Cheng and Eng, the first recognized Siamese... Interesting collection of nostalgia. Small, cramped area, not overly wheelchair friendly. They charge you extra if you don't have cash. Come prepared.

The admission cost for me and my husband was less than $15.00 and we thought it was well worth it. We enjoyed seeing all that the museum had to offer. There are lots of items donated by Andy Griffith himself. There are also some letters he wrote and signed accompanying some of the items that were touching. You can see... More

The museum is full of news articles and pictures of Andy's TV and movie career along with some articles of clothing and other memorabilia. However, the poor lighting on the articles posted on the wall made things hard to see. ( too much glare) The museum was small with an admission of $6.00 per adult. That price included the small... Small collection of memorabilia. A must see if you are a diehard fan of show or actor. Priced reasonably for entry. Overall worth a stop to see.

I was never a big fan of the Andy Griffith show, but growing up in the 60s and 70s, it was hard to avoid. So this was an interesting museum for me. I know that Andy Griffith is known as an actor, but I appreciate him as a comedian and musician. So there's much in this museum for me. Lots... More
