This is a climb straight up the side of a mountain. There are sets of rock stairs mixed with roots and rocks to help with footing, but it is a very steep climb. The view from the summit is well worth the hike up. Three...More

We stopped here mainly for a restroom break. The restrooms are the environmental waterless type. There is a small visitor center/gift shop here. This is the highest visitor center on the Blue Ridge Parkway. We enjoyed the cool, crisp air and the views from the...More

We visited Watercock Knob expecting to go only half way up and did just that. Being pregnant, it was no easy task just to get half way. But the thing I was surprised to see is that even without climbing a trail, there is a...More

Water Rock Knob is on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The hike was strenuous and a little to much for us. We are in our early 70's But we gave it our best effort. There are picnic tables with the most amazing views. This trail is...More

It's a great place to park and take pictures of both sides of mountain, small gift shop with a park Ranger. Bathrooms. There is a hike (.6) to the overlook, paved short way, wood steps, closer to the end the more steep and difficult it...More

Hike from the parking lot is somewhat steep in spots but the views are spectacular. Truthfully, the views from the parking are great as well...no real need to hike up! Restrooms and picnic area available.

Views were nice, not the greatest, but given the short hike they were pretty impressive. It is definitely a steep walk, quite a few stairs, but not a long distance

Great views. Awesome drive on the Parkway to get there. 360 degree views. Really nice. Even had a bathroom. Great to picnic at.

The main level of the parking lot is very accessible, as are the bathrooms and welcome center. The trail is a moderate hike, but the view just from the parking lot is worth a stop.
