Memorial day weekend 2016 - great hike with the kids and the dogs. Beautiful views. the little zoo was cute, and I loved the otter exhibit. Loved the mile high swing bridge. The top was a bit crowded, but still enjoyable.

We paid $18 per person. This is simply unaffordable for many folks. Having recently been to Brookgreen Gardens where a ticket isn't cheap but it's good for 7 days we suggest that GFM tickets be allow for a return hike at least. Video in museum...More

I always had a fear of heights and conquered it on our day trip to this attraction. Words cannot possible describe all of the view so I am sharing pictures. The adventures can take days in this attraction.

Yes, however on a weekend you may have to wait on slow moving traffic to get into the road up to the top

Thanks for writing! Concerning hotels close to Grandfather Mountain, the best pick would be the Best Western Mountain Lodge in nearby Banner Elk. There are also numerous bed-and-breakfast accommodations in Banner Elk.
