Fort Defiance is an excellent historical site in Lenoir, North Carolina. We visited recently and took a tour of the home and the grounds.

Historic property, very interesting , very realistic, we went during the annual oyster roast and had a BLAST, food was only overwhelmed my the GREAT people attending !

It was a great history review of General Lenoir and how his life and family affected this area. The tour guide was very knowledgeable presented the history of this place very well. It is a great stop on a day trip.

A treasure in the Blueridge Mountains that showcases this Revolutionary war hero's home. The namesake of Lenoir, NC, this General fought in the battle of Kings Mountain, a turning point in favor of the colonies in the Revolutionary War.

We do allow pets on the grounds. We just ask that you keep them on a leash and clean up after them.
