We love the pure beach boardwalk in particular. There's a pier with fishing, a nice bait shop and restaurants with shopping all around.

Or maybe an hour at the beach. A little numb from the wind, cold and rain. Still a beautiful day and miles of beach.

take a walk out to view stars and hear the ocean fish yourself or watch what the others pull in. Kids love fishing.

The pier is free to walk out on, but you do pay if you want to fish. Be careful walking though, as the pier is in bad shape and many holes and bad boards. A great place to people watch and exciting to watch the...More

We picked the wrong day to go to Kure Beach, it was cold. We took a brisk walk to the end of the pier and a short walk along the beach before we left, forgot how cold it gets high waves and windy but still...More

Excellent vibe, at once relaxing and exciting, on this active fishing pier. We wandered out to look for a whale that had been sighted in the area (no luck) - but plenty of things to see, as lots of activity going on both on-pier (fishing)...More

I had a great day, caught good numbers and varieties of fish. The pier staff was excellent very helpful, Tackle prices in the pier house were cheaper than any box store on the mainland. It is really a great place. A world of fun for...More

You can't eat at Jack Mackerel's and not take a stroll in the pier. Free to walk and a nice gift shop inside with restrooms. We make it a must every time we go to the area.

We have been coming to this pier for years and until recently have enjoyed the experience. In the last few years, the condition of the pier has worsened. It is hard for older people, running children, or people with vision problems to walk on this...More

My wife and I do not fish, so we merely walked the pier for the view and exercise. For us, the main draw was the ice cream in the store. Reasonably priced and some flavors change nearly daily.

Their store had just about anything and everything so I imagine they had chairs and umbrellas. Extremely nice people so if they don't have them they will point you in the right direction.

They have some things like that at the pier but you will be better served at a big box store before you get on the island. The pier shop has cool trinkets and souvenirs and fishing stuff
