Weekend getaway ended with a trip down here to the beach. The beach was gorgeous. It was a little crowded, but it was mid July, so thats expected in the middle of the summer. The parking lot was rather full but we were able to find a spot. I would love to be here at a time when it isnt... More

My first year of having a season pass. Well worth the money. After Sept 15,the park is open 24/7. We out onto the beach after the sun we down. The girlfriend and I enjoyed the quietness and beauty of the surf. Give it a try.....

It's just a great public beach access point. Plenty of parking. The showers are at waist level don't get that at all lol. But overall great place to visit.

We rented bikes and rode along the beach and around the live oak trees. There are also trails through the woods for bikers. Civil War museum across the street has trails along the marsh and bench areas to relax. Wonderful shaded areas for a picnic as well!

I have been to Wilmington Beach and Carolina Beach several times. This was my first outing at Fort Fisher Beach. The beach was a little less crowded, parking was close by and we were able to picnic with our pooch. This beach is a gem.

Take a quiet stroll to get away from all the noise... Nothing really exciting to do here but who cares?

We went to the beach at the state recreation area and had a wonderful day. There are gazebos to get in out of the sun and no houses. You can climb around on the rocks and enjoy the spray from the waves as they crash onto shore.

It's a beach. It's nice. /review. Now on to the more technical matter... To off road or not. If you own a awd cuv or some other type of vehicle with crappy 4wd, don't even bother. You'll get stuck at the bend. You need slacked tires (15 to 25 psi), good power, all terrain tires, NO LOW PROFILE Rims, and... More

There was a movie being filmed here at the time of our visit so we only really stopped out of curiosity. We ended up reading a bit about the place and its place in US Civil War history. Knowing how many men died here makes it a very solemn place. IT was originally a confederate fort protecting vital trade routes... More

This is a great place to stand and watch the ocean or go out on the beach. We always love going here and as a minister even renewed a couples vows here.
