Fishing day

The pier was an average pier with a much needed board replacement that appeared to be in progress. We enjoyed our day. We would come back next time we are in the area.

We were recently staying in kill devil and visited the pier several times. It's cheap to rent gear to fish and pass is valid all day long so you can come and go as you please. We saw lots of fish being caught. In the evenings you can watch the dolphins that come around

It was a charge to get into the pier. I forgot how much was the charged. We went and watching people fishing. It's a nice views of the beach and ocean from the pier. Some people said they saw sharks. Overall I think it's worth a visit!

Unlike some other outlets I've visited, these truly have great prices. The people who work there are all friendly and helpful. A great way to spend a couple of hours on a chilly or rainy day in OBX.

We rode our bikes around town while vacationing and came upon the pier. It's full of old time video games, you can get food, use the restroom, but most noteworthy, walk the pier for a mere $2.00! It goes out really far and you feel like you are in the ocean. Amazing photos taken from the pier. Fun!

Came in deep midwinter. No fees for parking or pier. Great views of the beach and ocean. Dolphins swimming by end of pier. People around us caught skate and dogfish. You can rent rods and buy bait and extra tackle. Pier has a nostalgic vibe. Best of all, staff are super knowledgeable and helpful about local fishing conditions. Caught nothing... More

One of the draws to this pier is that there is no fee for guests at the Holiday Inn Express. It is conveniently located. This can sometimes make for a bit of crowding on a good fishing day. Recent storms have resulted in wear and tear.

This pier is worth the $2 entry fee. We got some great photos of the shore from the pier. The waves that day we were fabulous. They were some of the biggest waves I've seen and I use to live in California and Massachusetts. It was fun watching the fishermen at the end of the pier.

Spent an entire off-season day fishing. Everyone was really nice. Allowing multiple rods was an appreciated perk. The ocean was a bit angry but we had a good catch of mullet. Several large drum were caught farther down towards the end of the pier. We will definitely be back!
