Avalon Pier is good local attraction. It is one of the older piers in the Outer Banks. Good central location in Kill Devil Hills. While we visit it frequently we never park there, much too expensive. Off season no charge if the gates are open.

Great place to take kids to play video games, pin ball machines, etc. The kids had a great time. Money gets spent real fast.

Since the pier is one of the first things that pop up when you google "things to do in Kill Devil Hills", you'd think it'd be this awesome attraction akin to the boardwalk at most beach towns. It's not! It's run down and at least...More

We visited in the afternoon for some fishing. My husband caught 1 puffer fish and I didn't catch anything. Didn't look like there were many fish caught other than sting rays. The views were nice, overall fun time

The place looks like it's about to fall into the ocean but it's a fishing pier for fishing. I have been going here for many years and think it's a bit pricey but the kids like the arcade aspect. I'm not sure if I ever...More

Great for fishing. Pier is dated, and draws a crowd. The beach around always has a ton of people. Worth checking out.
