We visited for a day, first time i had been here in years. Of course there were changes but I loved the way it still is an area that is about being at the beach, not about shopping or going to shows or concerts. There...More

Quaint and quiet little town at least when the tourists are gone. Nice area. Clean and more aesthetically appealing than Myrtle Beach’s Grand Strand. Unfortunately many places were closed for the season.

Wonderful quiet family beach. Safe and clean. Great distance to both Wilmington and Myrtle Beach. A couple of decent restaurants and a grocery story across the bridge. I have a house there, so I visit frequently.

Been visiting here each year for 30 years, renting a different house each year. Have never had a bad experience. Houses are usually well kept and clean. Only a couple of small condos on the island and no motels, which keeps the density of people...More

Very beautiful, well-kept beach area. The houses in this community are gorgeous and colorful. It's quiet because everyone renting these houses are hanging at the beach most of the time. The beach area is nice and clean. The ocean is breath-taking. The streets are flat,...More

It is a nice quiet beach town. A great place to watch the boats and birds. The beach has little holes with water in them for the kids to play in.

Holden is pretty similar to Ocean Isle Beach. I never wear sand shoes, but my wife always does. If you think you need them at OIB you should plan on needing them at Holden, too.

It's pretty shelly. I wore water shoes on the beach. The plus side is some amazing shells. We found conch shells almost every day and the find of the week was a fossilized sand dollar. No pieces of eight... More
