If you are not driving towards Highlands, it is difficult to go into the pull off. We were going the opposite direction, so we had to find a place to turn around and it was hard to manuever. The view is pretty, but not worth...More

The only place to really view the waterfalls has a small pulloff for about two cars or a few motorcycles and not enough room for a larger pickup truck. You might be able to park a little away from it and try to walk to...More

This is off of the highway. Better seen going towards Highlands from Franklin than the other way. I was surprised how quickly it went by. Beautiful

This is one of my favorite drives all year long. Basically Hwy 64 is a narrow, twisty road without shoulders which follows and cascading Cullasaja River down the ridge from Highlands, NC. The locals love to swim portions of the river and the cascades, but...More

This was an interesting attraction. It is off of route 64 and there is ample parking. There were warning signs that kept people from walking under the falls.

Unless you're taking a hike, it's hard to see. It's a pretty gorge, but nothing spectacular. Take a pass and keep on driving up the mountain to Highlands.

There is a fairly large waterfall about 8 miles from Highlands. If traveling from Highlands, go past the pull off and find a safe place to turn around. You can see the falls from the turnoff. The road follows the gorge all the way to...More

Most trails allow dogs, if they don't there usually are signs. It's best to buy trail maps at area outdoor stores. Just make sure you clean up after your dog.

Just follow the road to Franklin, NC. There will be a pull off spot on the left down the road a ways. Be very careful as the road is narrow and curvy.
