My husband and I brought our four kids to Elijah Mountain Gem Mine during our stay in Hendersonville, NC. We all had a great time. This is how it works. Our kids had so much fun, we went two days in a row! It's a bit like treasure hunting, and everyone loved the gems they found in their buckets! They have a great selection of stones, geodes, crystals and jewelry too. The staff was wonderful, Elijah, Heather, Elizabeth and Jordan were great. We will come again next trip! FYI don't... More

Knowledgeable staff, very kind, giving, and helpful. They took time to educate our family about the process and everything that we were finding. It was truly a highlight of our trip to this wonderful little town.

Elizabeth was so knowledgable and had a sweet personality. My nephew Eitan loved finding the gems and feeding the goats. There is a section that is air conditioned. The place is dog friendly. This is the place to gem mine.

Gem mining at Elijah Mountain in Henderson NC was awesome. The kids had a blast and got some great gems and rocks. Cody got a megalodon tooth, garnet, ruby and geode. Sid got some cool fossils, emerald, fossilized mud and big quartz crystals. Elijah is very knowledgeable and identified all the rocks and gems we found. The kids learned a... More

My son is 9 and he loved it!! The adults also had a blast just rummaging around the fun and quirky store. He got a $25 bucket and that kept him busy for about 30 min and there were lots of gemstones retrieved!! We also got a geode which they will crack open for you! Jordyn was awesome!! She took... The gem mine was so much fun for a wide range of ages, easy to find and park, lots of things too, as well as helpful and patient staff. Great prices and people for sure! We will definitely go back.

this is a "must do" for kids visiting the area. Our grandkids look forward to this every year. They all go home with a bag of gemstones.

I'm 60 years old and have always wanted to try this! My husband and I got a 5 gallon bucket and started sifting...we were truly amazed at how many lovely stones we had accumulated, even a geode, which the young man that had helped us, cracked in half to reveal the beautiful crystals that were hidden inside. (At no extra... More

Our family came to the Henderson/Saluda area for a short getaway vacation. Elijah mountain was our first stop and my kids loved it! We could have spent hours there looking through all the gemstones and gifts they have. The "mining" experience was also a lot of fun with very generous takeaway treasure! Each of my children got the little miners... More
