We hope you will visit Historic Halifax soon! Historic Halifax is open Tuesday through Saturday 9 AM to 5 PM and is closed Sundays, Mondays and most state holidays. Historic Halifax offers rental of certain buildings and grounds areas for special events! Consider having your wedding, party, or meeting at Historic Halifax. Call or stop by the visitor center today for more information and rates! Non-profit organizations receive a discount on rental rates. Historic Halifax is both a living museum and a piece of history captured in time. The restoration town is wonderful, and they periodically have re-enactments of the time when it was in its boom. Difficult to figure out when the historic sites are open though.

We did a kayak trip and stayed in a Roanoke River Partners platform outside of Hamilton. Went up to see the Halifax historic district. Perfect patriotic day trip for Independence Day.

This is a great place to take the kids. The visitors center has a museum and a very informative 15 min video. Most of the historic area is within walking distance. There are several guided tours which are completely free.

Don't forget Halifax Jr.Womens Park. Eat a picnic lunch while the children play! We love this...especially at the end of Oct. The weather is amazing.
