At this mine, you can purchase either buckets of Native soil (with minerals) or buckets of soil salted with minerals from elsewhere. If you choose to look for native sapphires and rubies, you have to walk over to the other side of the creek and...More

I was not so impressed with this mine. Granted, you never know what you are going to get but with four of us and all the times we went back to dig for more dirt, you’d think you would find something since I heard such...More

Thank you for sharing your experience. We are sorry to hear that your group didn't find anything. Being that it is a native mine there is never a guarantee of finding stones. We hope in the future you will give the mine another chance.

Nice way to spend a few hours in the area. You do have to carry your buckets of dirt a short distance, so you should be fairly fit. They do offer handicap areas and that was vsry cool.

This gem mine is not necessarily for the absolute beginner! My husband loves the "natural dig". It's one fee for as many buckets as you can possibly go through. No guarantees on pretty (or big) stones but the bell rang twice during the four hours...More

Google maps took us on a twisted "short cut" with many turns to get there, but there were interesting sights to enjoy on the way. We tried to get there early to get a full day of mining. Upon entering the office/gift shop, we were...More
