Hidden jewel!

Great place to take the kids! Plenty to learn in this hidden jewel. Check for hours because they open at 1:00 most days.

Nice little indoor place for kids to play. Definitely more for 2.5 - 4 year olds. The water table seems to be a favorite activity for most kids that go. They also have a cute little outdoor space in the back.

This is a good place to take your kids and relax for a while as they explore the activities inside. There is an arts and crafts center where you can pick the colors and draw an art, a kitchen where kids can cook pretend food, a doctor's clinic , an aeroplane control center etc. There is a small water bridge... My 2 year old daughter loves this place. We frequently visit the animals and play in the toddler area. They have several science stations set up for children of all ages to explore and several live animals. A great place to spend a few hours with the kids.

Over the weekend we were visiting some friends who live in Elizabeth City. We were traveling with our 4 year old daughter. My friends had mentioned how great this place was and we decided to check it out. Our daughter had such a great time. She spent a lot of time in the toddler area, and really enjoyed the puppet... Both of my girls (ages 6 &7) really enjoyed their Friday night at Port Discover. The girls left with a catapult made of Popsicle sticks and telling me all about the different animals/ insects they had at Port Discover. A fun place for kids in downtown Elizabeth City. Nice option for parents to enjoy the Arts evening....

My niece and the two boys I nanny for love it here! They never want to leave. We attend the morning Toddler Tuesday free play (also the older Toddler Time lessons for ages 3-5 one Thursday a month). Port Discover also has a variety of programs for older children. It is a non-profit with many volunteers. It is free to... More

Upon first seeing this place, you will underestimate all that is actually there. The kids can dress up in a career outfit, build, play with the puppets, see live lizards and bugs, and visit the garden. I absolutely loved that it was free and that my kids could play and I could watch them while sitting at a table in... More

There is always something going on at Port Discover from kids programs to the middle school girls science that will be taking place in Early December. They are now partnering with Sidney's Cafe and Bistro for their Science Cafe which is geared to older students and adults.

We were just walking down the street after dinner and noticed an iguana in the window of this facility. Being fairly new to the area we had no idea what this place was so when we walked in we found a nice lady at the front who greeted us and she explained that they were a non-profit kids organization that...
