Overview
More
Founded in 1999 by Brothers Charlie and Ed Shelton, Shelton Vineyards was envisioned as a new agricultural resource for an area once dependent on tobacco farming. Located in the heart of North Carolina's Yadkin Valley, Shelton Vineyards is 180 degrees from any winery you will find on the West Coast. The distinctive characteristics of Shelton wine come from the unique soil and climate of the Yadkin Valley. This helps give Shelton wine an inimitable taste that holds its own against any wine from any area in the world. We invite you to visit us, try our wine and see if you agree that our wine is as unique as the area we are in.

We had a great time at harvest grill. The three cheeses and five varieties of wines. Blackberries and riesling are the best. The burger, salmon and summer salad are all great except the thick salsa cold soup. The soup was too salty, and thick, we...More

Nice wine tasting and tour. Excellent restaurant. We could not ask for better people at the winery or restaurant. We felt very welcome and truly enjoyed the service.

This is the most upmarket and best winery in the Yadkin Valley. A beautiful well-appointed tasting room does the surrounding vineyard credit. The range of estate wines was very impressive (bottle prices ranging from $15 to $40). Our favorites were Family Reserve Chardonnay (a great...More

If your kids are mature. Weather permitting, there are short trails around ponds with picnic tables. My kids would be bored and uninterested of the tour and tasting room/gift shop geared to adults.
