We love this park. They have a stocked lake for fishing, lovely walking trails, open areas to run and play. So much to do and so little time.

I have long enjoyed this park as a great place for the whole family. It has also been one of my favorite local places to power walk. But for over a month now they have had large sections of the walking paths closed, making a full circuit difficult if not impossible. I will likely not return until repairs are complete.

My main purpose in visiting this park was to fish the lake. Being from out of state, we had to purchase a temporary N.C. fishing permit. Had to also pay the park $2 for permission to fish. So, it cost $25 just to fish in Liske. Once we get to the lake, we see the huge rocks almost all the way around the lake. These huge rocks were a snag just waiting to happen. Would have been so much easier to fish had it not been for the "minefield" of rocks. Very dissappointing trip. Will not return to Frank Liske park with any intention of fishing. Rest of park was nice. The park should post a disclainer about the nuisance rocks around the lake.

The park ranger or whatever the male was, harrassed peaceful park patrons lto exit the park at 8:00pm when the official closing time was 9:00pm. Until 9:01pm there is no legitimate excuse. Totally unacceptable.
Beaitiful park.

For 10 plus years my kite club meet and flew kites together on our "home field" below the barn at Frank Liske. We worked with the park to provide entertainment and crowd pleasing events for the park visitors for years. We had our club annual event here in April and were always willing to teach anyone who was interested about kites and we promoted Frank Liske as a great family friendly place pretty much everywhere we went. Over the years we had very few issues at this park. Just about every month out of the year you could find us there flying on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays. Newspapers, magazines, and other medial outlets came out to do articles on our club and the park more than once. The park was good for us and we were good for he park.
That all changed last year. When the park made the decision to put in trees and a frisbee golf course that made flying a kite on just about any open area all but impossible. They did not consult our club. There was no regard for how this would impact us at all. We felt shafted and rightfully so. It wouldn't have taken much in the way of planning to have area for both kites and frisbee golfers there at that park. But it seemed they did not consider our long standing flying area at all. Some in our club feel that the park went out of their way to make it all but impossible to fly at Frank Liske Park. So I don't recommend this park anymore to anyone for any purpose. I am sure many of our club members feel the same way. Are we sour about it, you better believe it. This park was what helped our group stay together. It was our common ground, our joy, and now that is over and our club is fractured and frustrated as we are still looking for a suitable place to fly in the greater Charlotte area. I for one use to travel 45 minutes one way just to fly their as I know of no other location closer to me to fly my kites. Thanks a lot Frank Liske Park staff. I see loyalty means nothing to you.

It's a great park for a lot of things. First, there's a miniature golf course for $1 per person. We let our granddaughter play some holes. Then there's the swing area. Finally we walk down the hill to the lake where my granddaughter feeds the fish. They have food in a dispenser for 25 cents. It's a great place to keep the kids occupied for a relatively inexpensive morning. Also a great place for walking. There are lots of other things to do but I think some of them are only available on weekends, like renting a boat.

My family and I frequent this park to utilize the playgrounds, running and fitness trails, and a place to picnic or grill out. Paddle boating is fun and can be done on the weekends. They host great camps for local families, and you can if you are live in Cabarrus County, you can reserve a shelter for half day for free! I always see people here having a great time. I love the addition of the Frisbee goal too! Several soccer and baseball tournaments are held here, and the fields are kept pristine.

Whether you go to relax, play, exercise or hang with family and friends Frank Liske Park is a perfect place. Easy to get in and out of. Lots of trails, picnic tables, a big pond, grills, tennis courts, soccer and baseball/softball fields, play grounds, putt putt. Loads of family fun to be had.

Where is the best area for a small group with young children? Do you have to reserve a table for a group of 15?
Written 25 August 2016
The main barn area has a big playground and is a great place for young kids. Lots of open area up there too to run around. Space is reservable for a fee, but is free to use if no one else has reserved it. If you go to their online reservation system you can see which areas are reserved and which ones are not. Odds are you'll have no problems on a weekday, but weekends do get busy. Check their system the day before you go and see what areas haven't been reserved, then it's first come, first serve.
Enjoy!
