A Great Place for Kids

They have talking stations which identify trees and other terrain. Kids love running ahead and pressing the talking stations.

I love going to this park. It has lots of trails that provide tons of educational information for both kids and adults. Several areas to relax and enjoy a picnic. There are covered areas in the event of bad weather. The nature is so beautiful. If you don't know what to do with the kids take them to Clemmons Educational... More

This was a great find for me, I love to trail run but easily get nervous that I will get off the trail and get lost! This park is fantastic about having well marked trails with multiple "you are here" signs along the way but at the same time still giving you that authentic "I'm really hiking in the woods"... More

We love going to Clemmons! The trails are well-kept, well-marked and clean. It's been a couple of years since we'd been. They've added several interesting new informational signs along the paths. There are short, easy walks on smooth surfaces, medium hikes, and longer ones up to 2 hours; marked "arduous" on the sign. Expect to cross streams with no bridges if... More

Clemmons Educational State Park in Clayton is a great small park for anyone looking for gentle hikes on numerous trails in a natural setting. No baseball fields, basketball or tennis courts, gardens, or flowers here. It's greatest asset is its tranquility. They have numerous picnic tables with firepits for cookouts while overlooking the lake; several shelters for reservations which are... More

Beautiful place for a leisurely hike. If you bring your dog, be sure they are leashed and have a tag with your contact info otherwise the rangers won't let you bring them on the trails. They're very strict about it because they've had a number of incidents with people letting their dogs run free and getting into restricted areas.

This is a nice local state forest. Pack a lunch and have lunch in the forest and then go for a nice walk. It is free and there is ample parking. Do a tick check after you walk.

I was recently recommended Clemmons by a co-worker, and I'm glad I took their advice! It is a great place to visit whether you go solo or with family. There are multiple trails which include the Talking Tree trail, Talking Rock trail, the Demo trail, and the Water Loop trail. My personal favorite is the Demo trail and then taking... More
