Nice Surprise!

I wasn't expecting this waterfall to be so impressive. Short flight of stairs and then a brief, rocky trail to a beautiful view of the falls. Worth a stop!

This is a must visit when you are in this part of NC. FYI: Your GPS will get you there, but there will be an area where the paved streets stop and you start wondering are you going in the right direction. But you are! Just keep driving up. You will come to a small parking lot and will see... More

This was our first time in North Carolina and joined up with family who had been before. Mingo Falls was on my list and am so happy we could climb to the top to see it. Had a hip replaced last year so this was an accomplishment and the beauty was astounding! A must see, nature at it's finest.

We had been up there before 20 years ago...it was still pretty easy to get up to it. The stairs at the beginning are the hardest part. It is about .4 miles so if your young you can probably run up to it. If your older take your time like we did. If you are able to stand in the... More

Short hike to a beautiful waterfall. Drove by many years saying I should go see the falls. Finally did and it was well worth it.

We did visit this waterfall in the summer...we were there in July...so there wasn't a large falls at this time of year. But what was more disappointing to me was the graffiti that was all over the stairs and railing leading up to the falls. Let's be clear...the pictures of the stairs leading up to the falls on this page... More

Mingo Falls is one of our see places during every trip we make to the Cherokee area, it's only 167 steps up and is well worth the climb. The falls are gorgeous!

Its about 15 minutes drive from the Cherokee downtown, and there is a small parking space at the bottom of the trail. Then you hiked up some rather big steps to the falls. The hike itself is short and non-challenging at all. The falls is just as pictured, the kids then spent some time in the water. The whole trip... More

Mingo Falls was so much more breathtaking than I expected. Definitely worth the short walk to the falls. I wasn't sure if I would be able to climb the stairs but it wasn't too bad, definitely don't want to miss this one!!
