There is nothing like this anywhere else. The white water rafting, the wall climbing, the rope course and trail system will keep you busy all day. It is a fun place to sit and watch the fun if you don't want to participate. Lunch is available overlooking the action. If you have teenagers they will have the time of their... More

I've been here multiple times for various reasons - mostly for work events, but also with friends just to have dinner. It is worth the time to just go and walk around and people watch, much less participate in the many activities available. The restaurant is good - food is reasonably-priced, and while not gourmet fare (not the crowd they... More

So many things offered at this location that there is something for everyone. I've been hiking there and attended musical events and I am seriously considering buying a year pass next year. There are lockers onsite as well. You can head out alone or with a group and there is plenty to do all day. There's a zip line! Hikers... More

Saw this place in the TripAdvisor top 10 for Charlotte, almost skipped it until the realtor we were working with while on vacation mentioned it again. It is an outdoor playground for all ages - whitewater, paddle boarding, mountain biking, zip lining, high ropes courses and I'm probably forgetting some... add to this that you can purchase and walk around... Get there early, get the day pass, and spend the entire day with the family. Favorite spot for my entire family and the kids always ask to go back. We lived in Charlotte for four years, had season passes and visit often. They have added so much variety of activities over the past 5 years with something for everyone. For... More

Great place to enjoy a day of activities without driving to the NC mountains to white water rafting, zip lining, kayaking and hiking on the Catawba River/Lake Wylie. Site handles crowds very nicely and each activity is spread out to avoid a crunch. This is not a place for young children under 10. It is better suited for pre-teens and... More

The facility was super clean! I have only been to the National Whitewater Center once. My neighbors have been going to the whitewater center for years. Infact they moved closer to the center out of Plaza-Midwood, Charlotte, NC to be closer to the water works. They each are on the a team (name unknown). I understand the National Whitewater Center... After living in Charlotte for 4 years I finally decided to check this place out and it was so much fun. Me and my friend bough the cool sports day pass which was all flat water and land activities. We started out paddle boarding, then we went zip lining and the ropes courses, there was a line for both but... More

Despite being by myself, I headed over to the Usnwc for a recent Friday night River Jam. A mountain music band played on the rafting center's island surrounded by rushing white water as we lounged in our beach chairs and blankets on the grass. An added treat were the zip liners whizzing every 8-10 minutes over our heads in front... More
