We were looking for an opportunity to get away from shopping centers and automobiles. First we visited the greenhouses which are well maintained and nicely explained. Then we wandered through the Susie Harwood Garden. It was a lovely walk with convenient benches and not too strenuous for retirement-aged walkers. This area was well maintained. Longer walks are possible in the... More

I went the other day in the middle of classes. I'm a commuter (about 30 minutes away) and have a break in between classes, so I don't go back home. I figured I'd go check it out! While I was walking around the sprinklers came on, so I had to bolt! Obviously not the campus workers fault or anything, just... More

We had 3 seniors and a family of 5...teen, tween and 9 yr old. The greenhouses were lovely, orchids, Venus fly traps, unusual succulents, one had a dinosaur and little Creek/waterfall...very well done, room of spices, fruit trees...well worth a walk thru. Across the street is an entrance to the gardens...all very well done. Most of the blooms were already... More

Great place to study natives! Most large specimens are labeled but hoping in time more herbaceous plant material will be identified. We particularly enjoyed all the bridges and surprises along the trail and the vistas it provided.

I 've meandered through the gardens a half dozen or so times in the past several years. Admission is free but you may have to pay to park on campus. I suggest you go through at different times of year to really enjoy the native plants. Things are well marked and there are nice places to sit and relax.

This is a fun non-crowded garden to explore. Cool plants and a few sculptures to see as well. The area is small but for the free price it's worth checking out if you are going to be in the area.

this is a nice quick place to visit a few greenhouses with interesting plants and across the street a nice sized garden and grounds to walk. Check yourself for ticks after.

After terrorizing Carowinds and blasting through the water park we decided to do something a little quiter today, BINGO, this is one of the most awesome gardens I have visited! Just beautiful. And didn't realize it was a hike also so we got exercise and entertainment together. Awesome!

Beautiful botanical gardens and really well done green house! The Glenn gardens was more of a hike in the woods so just be prepared for that. We had a stroller with a 2 year old, which was challenging at times bc of rough paths and steps and doable but not recommended. Would definitely come again!

I was there on graduation day and there were several students and their families enjoying the beauty and serenity of the the gardens. The botanical gardens alone would have been a reason for my going to college in Charlotte. I wonder how many students spent some time there before departing?
