After 13 years of residence in Chapel Hill, my wife and I finally got around to visiting the Planetarium about which we've heard so many positive comments. Reclining in a very comfortable chair, viewing the universe overhead and listening to an accomplished speaker explain how...More

We arrived at about 11:45 on Wednesday and missed the last planetarium show of the day (11:30). The rest of the museum is free to explore. Thank goodness! There is nothing to see. The kids were not impressed. We probably spent less than 15 minutes...More

I don't know a lot about planetariums, but this one is pretty cool in my book - astronauts trained here and they have lots of great shows - a hidden gem!

I recommend stopping by, especially if you have kids. This is not your typical planetarium due to its size, history, and kids programs. Stop by and learn more.

What a fun place! To think that NASA astronauts were instructed in celestial navigation there, and to see the great programming still occurring at Morehead - what a wonderful place!! We enjoyed the evening skies presentation, and would recommend it to anyone visiting UNC-CH.
