A very enjoyable hike and the waterfalls are amazing! We went a few days after a big rainfall and they were fabulous! Fairly easy hike to 3 of the waterfall areas... a few inclines/declines... only a few miles. Would be beautiful at any time of...More

What a fabulous park. It’s a bit outside of Asheville but worth the drive. I would look up the trails before arrival to see what you would like to do. We hiked the High Falls, Bridal Veil Falls and, along the way found the covered...More

Visited DuPont State Forest and had a great time. Started out by visiting Hooker Falls and doing some fly fishing on the Little River. Hooker Falls is so pretty. The hike is pretty easy. You can view the Falls from the top or walk to...More

My wife and I were told this is a nice place with a number of waterfalls and nature hikes. They were right, the sights are wonderful and for the entire family. Beware of the Triple Falls, it’s a hard walk uphill.

We found a picture of a cool waterfall on a postcard, which led us to DuPont State Forest. We arrived fairly early in the day to find a newish looking Visitor Center that was not yet open and newish looking restrooms that were open. We...More

You can hike all day with no entrance fee. Parking fills up fast though. There are nicely built and maintained rest rooms, picnic tables and a visitor center at the upper entrance. ( no opportunity to buy food or drinks so bring your own) The...More

100 ft fall into Cascade Lake. The waterfall was thunderous. Take the gravel road of Cascade Lakes. Narrow and gravel but very pretty.

This is an excellent hike! The path is wide and very well marked and maintained. The hike was pretty easy, even with 2 kids and a teenager :) Absolutely stunning waterfalls! We saw the covered bridge, High Falls, Triple Falls, and Hooker Falls.

Love this area. A lot of movies filmed here too. The path is wide and marked very well. We had a wonderful walk the rain. Enjoyed watching a couple of fly fishermen.

This was the perfect type of place to hike. I enjoy “hikes” that are more like “walks” or “strolls.” I have nothing to prove but enjoy the views. I’d go back here again and again!

The water is very shallow at Hooker Falls, so you shouldn't have a problem unless you get close to the center of the falls where it is a little deeper. A life vest couldn't hurt, but probably not necessary. You can climb up... More

If you park at the Visitors Center, you can hike to Hooker, Triple Falls, and High Falls. Bridal Veil is in a different area and is a 2.5 mile or so hike to that one.
