Beautiful and breathtaking

We visited yesterday before sunset. When we arrived a beautiful rainbow greeted us. Well worth the drive up the mountain. The road is winding but good.

Made a trip to Cedar Mountain to attend the Easter Sunrise service at Fred Symmes Chapel. All I can say is that this was the most beautiful and inspiring chapel I have ever been to. All God's beauty is before you as you overlook the mountains. This location left us speechless..............

Just 5 miles off of route 276 on the NC/SC border. This chapel is part of the YMCA Camp Greenville and it is open to the public. Careful of weekend visits from spring to the fall on the weekends. It's closed during private events and weddings. Beautiful Easter Sunrise service every year by a local baptist church.

My husband and I drove up to Symmes Chapel to watch the sunrise for my birthday in February. We arrived about thirty minutes before dawn and could see the lights of Greenville in the distance. It was beautiful to watch the light of the sky slowly overwhelm the man-made lights below. The last 15 miles or so up the mountain... More

I am not a religious person by any means and you don't need to be to feel how special this place is. The views are spectacular and you feel very much at piece here.

I love this chapel. Whenever we come to DuPont, I have to see the sun rise at Pretty Place. I have a friend who has cancer, I texted him this is the closest physically an individual can be to Jesus without meeting him face to face. If you ever get a chance to visit this chapel, I highly recommend it!

This is a must if you are in the area, the view and atmosphere are fantastic. It is a little hard to find, some maps cannot pick it up. The drive up the mountain is worth the view. God's majesty at its finest.

We did not know what to expect. In reality the place is more impressive & serene then any picture. Beautiful Chapel in the sky. Important: Always call the place ahead of time! Make sure it is open to the Public, sometimes it is closed for private events. You can't get Sunset here but you can get sunrise (faces east) if... More

We have been here several times and are always taken with how incredibly gorgeous the view is. It's a bit of a winding long drive but with Cesar Head so close it is worth it as you can easily knock out both gorgeous stops in one trip!
