Even though it was raining we knew that most of the rides were closed anyway but we stopped by to let our 7 year old granddaughter check it out. She enjoyed a couple rides on the indoor carousel and dreamed of getting on the slides which were wet....maybe next time. Seems like a really nice public park and we're hoping we can make it back this summer to check the entire park out.

The City Park is a great place to take your children. Lots to do, ride the carousel, there are boats, swings, food and of course the train!

We came here to ride the carousel and we certainly enjoyed it. It seems to be very well kept up. And the price is great: $1 a ticket or 10 tickets for $8. It’s thought this carousel was built around 1910, although some of the animals may have been made in the 1890’s; this is its 3rd or 4th home, brought here from Ohio in 1948. It was restored in the 1980’s. I didn’t find the names of any professional carousel restorers were involved with the restoration, and unfortunately it shows. While the paint job is well done, it doesn’t have the quality coloring or detailing that other Dentzel carousels that have been restored to their original look by professionals have. Still, the animals look beautiful. I would highly recommend riding this carousel. We also took a walk around the park and had our lunch here. Our children enjoyed riding some small cars. Do note that the rides close for the heat of the afternoon and then open again for the evening. We had to carefully time our arrival here since we were just driving through on our way to Tennessee.

This park has a quaint, small town feel. There is a carousel and a small train for the kids to ride. There is also a playground. The park has many paved paths and bridges that cross a meandering stream.Pet friendly, although pets are not allowed in ride area.

A great place for youngsters in the summer. Rides are reasonable, snacks are available, and lots of walking paths too.

City Park is a Burlington institution. It was a real treat to go there as a child. We took our children so much we had season passes. And NOW we take our grandchildren. We love it!!!!

While this in its day might have been the place it simply has been left behind. Parts are in disrepair and often it gets trashed.

This park is absolutely old fashioned and outdated. The same stuff from when I was child 25 years ago. Could use a update.
