The 1771 Battle of Alamance was not very famous... but to the greater Burlington, NC area, it was very important. The local resistance (called "Regulators") against Governor Tyron and his 1000 English forces did not prevail, but showed great courage in standing up and fighting...More

I accidentally stumbled upon this battleground looking for bike trails, and I was pleasantly surprised. As soon as I walked in they offered to show me a historical film over the events that transpired on their grounds years ago. The film was about 20 minutes...More

Took my 4 year old grandson to the reenactment of the 1771 battle of Alamance. It was excellent. He thoroughly enjoyed himself. I wish that the staff had interacted with him more but all in all it was worth the $2 admission!

Drove out to see the battlefield and was pleased to find various period tents, cabins and monuments. Happy to learn more about the local history. Much of the area is shaded which was terrific on a warm afternoon.

We enjoyed visiting the battlefield and learning about the beginnings of the Revolutionary War. Previously we have only visited the US Civil War sites and were excited to learn more of the US early history. Great place to take your children for a hands on...More

We visited here on a soggy day and took a circuitous route around puddles to finally arrive at the monuments in the middle of this otherwise vacant, large field. The history here is shocking because its importance was somehow forgotten. Unimpressive grounds with an enormously...More
