An Hour of Fun

Nothing fancy but pretty fun. I don't think others out there think that just because it has the word Gem Mine in the name that they are visiting an actual "mine" but, I did have... read more

I heard a lot of stories of house this is fake, fake, fake, but I didnt care it was something I wanted to do and am very happy I did. I found quite a few gems and proudly to them home to polish to find out exactly what I have. I am in my 50's and felt like a little... More

Nothing fancy but pretty fun. I don't think others out there think that just because it has the word Gem Mine in the name that they are visiting an actual "mine" but, I did have to explain this to the younger kids we were travelling with so they wouldn't be disappointed when we showed up and all they saw was... Large buckets with lot's of large stones making the experience much more fund for the family. The stones found were of a large variety vs. buckets with small planted stones like other mines. Owner very friendly and let's you go at your own pace. Only downside, there is only 1 bucket size so be prepared to pay :)

Brenda will be glad to help you at 800-468-7238. You can set up your appointment in the pre-season and buy a 5 gallon bucket of dirt/rocks for $45! They also offer white water rafting. Can't wait to go!

This gem mine was different from the rest because of the owner. He owns two real mines above the store. They gather and mine their own gems. He is also a gem cutter and I enjoyed him taking the time to sit with my boys and talking about each gem they "mined". My boys left with their gems wanting to... More

This is fun for all ages. Worth the stop. Semi-friendly staff. You never know what kind of gems you will uncover.

This is just one of those things you have to pull over and do just once in your lifetime. Different prices on buckets you buy to sift out the jewels. we purchased the $40 bucket and brought home several emeralds, crystals, garnets, fools gold and moonstone. They will polish and cut stones for you there. We just really enjoyed spending... More

It was fun, but it was a kind of "serve yourself" experience. Got our own buckets from the shed. My son had a wonderful time. We had some time during the evening and enjoyed the experience.

My three boys (not to mention my husband and myself) ages 11, 9, and 7 had a really fun time here. You buy a 5-gallon bucket full of dirt and pan for gems. The kids enjoyed it so much we ended up doing two buckets and all three kids had some really nice gemstones and cool rocks. Took us about... More
