The Jones house is a great asset to our local Boone community! From music lessons for the kids in the winter, to great (free) music on the lawn on Friday nights in summer, the Jones house provides cultural opportunities.

Mark Freed does a great job booking the Friday night bands and facilitating the music lesson program.

It is a great spot to see local artists on occasion as well.

Overall the Jones house is great!

During the season (summer months) on Friday evenings various groups of musicans and singers come over to entertain. Bring your own chairs or use one there if available. The music and singing is always great. No charge. It all takes place outside and being that you are in the mountains it could get cool or maybe a rain shower. This is always a fun time.

Great space with historical significance and monthly art exhibits. Stop in when you’re walking the quaint downtown area.

We love being neighbors with the Jones House! Their community and cultural events are so enriching to the Downtown area, and guests love sitting on the rooftop to see the gorgeous view looking down on The Jones House!

We had no idea that Boone is the center for Bluegrass musicians and Appalachian storytellers but followed Ms Emily’s advice to stop after dinner at The Jones House for some “Old-Time Jams, Local History & Art in the Mazie Jones Gallery”. The Jones House was built in 1908 as a family home by Dr. John Walter Jones, he was one of the first physicians in the area and this family home was the location of his first office. Here in the warmth of a group of local musicians we got to listen to some of the most delightful tunes of Bluegrass!

Ok so travel basics, free clean pubic bathroom, water, and great places to sit in the shade and rest a minute. Insane beautiful many hundreds years old maple tree, there was a nice art display and information on the community, sit for a minute and enjoy

Every Friday during the summer they have free concerts on the lawn. Usually two bands each time. They also have an art gallery inside. The month of July, the High Country Water Media Society has their annual show there with great art.

Great architectural presence and stone stairway to visit and enjoy the exhibit. Also, as a by the way, has public restroom after a busy day of shopping and or during a visit. Nice relaxing environment and grounds.
