For no cost this is a lovely place to stop along the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is for all ages especially my 85 year old mom. After cruising through gift shop we relaxed on a stately porch overlooking a valley and mountains. Choose a rocking chair or wicker. Easy parking and good bathrooms. Vast walking trails or bring your horse.... More

We always stop here when we are in the area. It has a wonderful selection of arts and crafts with all artists from the SE US region. The front porch is also a wonderful place to sit in a rocker and look out over a beautiful NC valley. Definitely make time to stop and chill. You won't regret it.

The views were absolutely gorgeous. The house needs works. The crafts were all very nice. Bought a piece of pottery. Walking areas were worth seeing all the scenery.

This lake is a natural wonder. It has rental boats and a beautiful network of trains. Fishing is allowed and a spectacular view.

The Moses Cone family home has great views of Bass Lake on a clear day. There are walking trails down to the lake and horseback riding if you call ahead and schedule it.

The Moses Cone family summer retreat, currently being re-restored is a wonderful testament to the guided age. The beautiful, historic structure houses the most wonderful collection of Appalachian, original arts and crafts. They were not only exquisite but very fairly priced. The variety of crafts offers something for anyone of any age at every price point.

This park is a great spot to hike or just take a casual drive. We walked to the mansion, which was closed, so we enjoyed some time sitting on the porch, taking in the view.
