Very nice place to stop and stretch. Beautiful views. There are a number of trails to walk. The house is being renovated so I hope it will be even better when it opens.

Great place to stop off the Parkway. Close parking, restrooms, picnic areas, and plenty of room for our kids (2,4, and 6) to run and roll down the hill! There is an easy trail off the Cone Manor (Figure 8 loop) that is perfect for...More

If you are in the area you don’t want to miss Moses Cone so many different things to enjoy. Hiking trails, great place to watch the sunset right up from the grave sights. Park rangers around to give various talks or classes.

Hiking on carriage paths is a different experience since you’ll have horses coming by and friendly riders who will, let you interact with them. This is a large, scenic area right on the Blue ridge parkway.

The quickest is the Deer Park trail. If you take the Maze toward the Apple Barn and then turn left onto Watkin Road you can also get there, but it is much further.

I believe the horseback riding was around $300 but only had an all day package which included lunch, photos, and something else. We didn't have that much time to put into it.
