This was an exciting ride for my grandson. He loved seeing the horses on the island. He was so excited when we saw Dolphins. Everyone became excited when they swam so close to the boat. It was a great adventure. The captain, our guide, also showed us the bridge that lifts in the middle to allow boats to go through.... More

Great boat ride, Captain Bob was very informative and we had a very nice time. They let us bring the dog along. I highly recommend this tour/ ride.

On this tour I got to see around six wild horses and two pods of dolphins! Captain Bob was super knowledgeable and funny, I would gladly take it again just to see the wildlife.

We did the 45 minute waterbug tour today with Capt. Bob. He was very personable and informative. He got us close to a herd of 12 horses. We also saw several dolphins who came close to the boat. This was a fun activity for me, husband and 2 kids (ages 11 and 14). I think it's a perfect activity for... More

Excellent and knowledgeable staff. Clean boats and good equipment. Loved the tour along the Shackelford Banks and seeing the wild horses. Would recommend anyone to take any one of their tours.

Just by chance, we decided at the last minute to hop on the 11:15 tour. We were the only two passengers and had to pay a little extra, but it was worth it. Peggy was our captain, and she was very informative. We saw wild horses on Rachel Carson Reserve and many wading birds including a blue heron. The hour... More

We were happy with our choice of Waterbug Tours of Beaufort. The awning on the boat was very nice to keep our group cool. We choose this tour because it was under an hour, and since we had a 5 year old with us, that was good. The tour guide was very informative about Beaufort, the islands, the horses and... More

This ride is only 45-60 minutes long. The prices are a bit high at $15 adults/$8 kids. We did learn some history on Beaufort, its early residents and native wildlife. If you want to be sure to see the wild horses, a longer boat ride will probably be needed. The horses have a very large area to roam and if... More

The trip on the Water Bug was a pleasant way to find out about the social and natural history of this fascinating region of America. The guide, I am sorry I cannot remember her name, was very knowledgable, pointing out many different species of birds and animals. The view of the horses which run wild on the banks was good... My name is Garrett and I am 9 years old. My Mom,Dad, and I were on vacation in June 2015 and decided to do the WaterBug Tour. Capt. Peggy answered all my questions. We saw the wild horses and many different birds. I ask my Mom to take me back next year.
