Terrible ski conditions due to warm weather.

Well, we tried to ski at Sugar Mountain on January 17, 2017 but the slopes were a mess. Only about 5-6 runs were open, and 4 of those should have been closed due to the mud and... read more

We are a family of skiers and on a recommendation, went to Sugar Mountain in Boone, North Carolina. Our primary issues were the lack of amenities, no safety concerns from the staff, a lack of customer service and no assistance from the management. Upon arrival, we were advised that parking was limited and would need to do the best we... More

Dangerous conditions aren't marked, visibility is horrendous, and no one cared when one of our party was hurt. No management was on site to help when it happened. Stay away!!!

Well, we tried to ski at Sugar Mountain on January 17, 2017 but the slopes were a mess. Only about 5-6 runs were open, and 4 of those should have been closed due to the mud and lack of snow. Not really the resort's fault that it is unseasonably warm, but they could've done a better job of monitoring and... More

I have been here several times over the last decade or so and it is one of the best ski attractions in North Carolina as far as I can tell. This time around, there wasn't much snow, but we were bringing the kids for their first tubing trip. We had a great time and had no problems at all. We... More

Overcrowded! My family paid a big price for a highly overcrowded ski experience. We weren't even able to ski because of the insane overcrowding! Muddy, dirty snow. Not only that, they were too lazy to make new snow! They didn't care! Look elsewhere for your skiing needs.

We decided to take a snowboarding lesson in the morning. When we arrived at the ski school we were told to purchase our lift ticket and rentals. By the time we got all of this done we could have only purchased a 1/2 day ticket and saved money for another day of skiing. We kept getting the run around and... More

I have been skiing for 15+ years in multiple states and never have I seen such horrible conditions as I experienced at Sugar mountain. I took one run and half the trail was dirt and rock and was not roped off to prevent skiers from inadvertently hitting this terrain. There were multiple rocks in the middle of the slope that... The lines were way too long and it was not worth the money. They should stop selling tickets after 75 people, not 150.

After years of hearing good and bad things about skiing in NC I finally got to try it out. Let me preface this review briefly. About 12 or 13 years ago I took my first trip to Whistler BC to snowboard, yeah awesome first trip! Anyway, I got the snowboard bug and wanted to book a trip for next winter... More

Great place for people who want to see snow in December. I was amazed at the number of Florida tags in the parking lot. Great place to ski and snow tube.
