If you have kids, it will be better if you go to Appalachian ski resort. Sugar Mountain was way too crowded.

My family and I took two ski trips to various resorts in North Carolina this year. Before we went, I had read a lot of reviews and did a lot of research. I had an idea of what Sugar Mountain would be, but the experience...More

We skied Sugar Mtn on 2/8 and 2/9, 2018 and enjoyed the experience. Its been 10-12 years since I’ve been there and I was impressed. The quality of the lifts was much improved; the snow was actually quite good (shocking😳). Most of all, I appreciated...More

This is a great place to learn to ski. I have skied at China Peak and Cataloochee and this was one of my favorite places to ski. The beginner's area is a great place to brush up if you only ski once or twice a...More

A good place to learn to ski and the lifts appear to be maintained. I believe the food prices are high compared to other ski areas.a grilled chicken sandwich was 12.00 dollars!!!.My and I prefer snowshoe it's about three hours north in West Virginia.

IMHO, I would call the resort and ask. I've been there several times but never when it was as warm as it's supposed to be this week.

Too far south for that. Slopes typically close in mid-March. Snowmaking ceases around the end of February.
