Absolutely wonderful day for the family! Our Guide, Jesse, was amazing. So knowledgable about the river and we knew we were in safe hands. Be prepared to get wet, tired and frustrated at times but the day is simply exhilarating! Slept so good after spending a day on the Nolichucky. Would recommend this to anyone who enjoys being on the... More

There were 6 of us that came up for a wedding in Banner Elk and decided to go whit water rafting the day after. River was a little low so they stuck most of us in "funyaks" ( inflatable kayaks ). It was a blast! Class 1-2-3-and a few class 4 Rapids. River guides were helpful, and made for a... More

Great trip by High Mountain Expeditions, rolling on the river today. Guide, Rob, was excellent and the entire team was attentive to their customers. Also, be sure to get a front row bus seat for the Appalachian’s best comedy duo of Matt & Ethan ….. refreshingly and lightly politically incorrect, but never offensive. We never saw any of these guys... More

Our trip down the Watauga River was leisurely with a bit of rough water excitement, perfect for those with a minor health limitation. Guides were fun, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The river was the cleanest I've ever been on -- you could see to the bottom easily even in some of the deeper areas, and watch the fish... More

We were able to get reservations the day before! And we were late do they put us on the next batch. Everybody we talked to that worked there in any capacity was very pleasant and great to work with. Next year they will have a building and camp sites. Tubes were great! We will be back!

We came on a big trip with our baseball team and everyone had a fantastic time. From huge water fights to the jumping rock, we loved every minute of it. The lunch was yummy and the bus ride was even fun.

Had a great time with Jason and Kurt. The river was running great and really enjoyed the Class 3 and 4 rapids with Jason as our guide. Never even got stuck on a rock! Had a couple of duckies that we switched off on with another couple. The gourmet lunch was terrific. Kurt does a great job slicing the fresh... More

From the very beginning (walking into the store) until the very end (going back were we started) this tour was a 100 pointer. All the guides (guys & gals) were just awesome!! We had Brandon, Ethan, Chris, Jules and forgot the other's names. The driving was so fun and entertained, Ethan and Brandon kept us laughing and learning. The lunch... More

Took my two grandsons on a beginners white water rafting trip. There was a total of 17 that went in 3 boats. The guides were very knowledgeable and very helpful to all of us. Chris was our guide and we couldn't have Haida better one. We didn't have to do much but enjoy ourselves. For some one that's never been... More

I've never been white water rafting before and was a little nervous. Even though the trip was minor in comparison to some stories I've heard, the company did everything to make it worthwhile. On the way there, the driver and Ethan sat and told some corny jokes and sang to keep us entertained. On the water, they dished out water... More
