I'm probably being unfair to this beach because we didn't visit it on a good day and I do prefer other Perth beaches (e.g. Cottesloe, Port). There was strong pull in the water with a south/south-westerly breeze and one couldn’t stay in one spot or even comfortably swim against it, so we bobbed around in the water for a while but didn’t really swim. However, even with the wind, it was pleasant laying on the beach and reading.

A fantastuc view of the ocean with marvellous breaking waves. The sea is a mixture of light green and blue sea with plenty of seaweed near the coastline. Wind is quite chilly but the sun made the air bearable. Nice ace for swimmers but to anglers, the vast seaweed areas make it an impossible task. A good challenge though.

Ocean was perfect. A lagoon pool separate from the ocean which was no deeper than my height. Warm, beautiful place

Why I love this spot! We love watching the sun set over the Indian Ocean whilst enjoying the delicious ice cream from ‘Gelato Bar Cottesloe’. You can take surfing lessons and swim in the ocean’s clear waters and, when it’s calm, the main Cottesloe Beach is also one of Perth's better snorkelling spots. Cottesloe makes a great family holiday spot as they have many enchanting seaside hotels. What is better than waking up right next to the ocean? It is a stunning beach that is certain to please everyone in the family.

This is a great place to bring your family. It offers a protected beach area and safe swimming space. The outer reef offers a sheltered area for swimming particularly for kids.

The lagoon has car parking with a kiosk cafe to buy some food and drinks.

This is also fisherman friendly with lots of areas close to the lagoon in which to catch a feed.

Great spot.

Since we have been region restricted in Perth of late this is as about game North as we have been able to travel during COVID-19. Nevertheless we took a drive up recently and checked out the Yanchep Lagoon for people before trying for a fish. There were a few people there so we ventured just south of the lagoon to find a nice reef platform. We had a great mornings fish for a feed of herring them crossed over to a nearby park to crank up the BBQ for a brekkie feed.

This had great picnic facilities with a couple of gazebos and seating. The lagoon actually had a cafe albeit under social distancing requirements at present.

This is a favourite amongst families. The reef outside the area provides a sheltered area for kids to safely swim or don their masks, snorkel and flippers to explore the ocean.

Apart from this there is a shop in the Carpark across the road. Parking can be at a premium though. I have visited all times of the year but as you world expect it's best during summer.

probably one of the safest little spots along the shore line .The natural formed lagoon protects swimmers from big biting critters ,dumper waves etc .parental supervision of the complete area is very comforting . Not sure on high tide but we were there on half to low tide. perfect .
you won`t be disappointed with a visit ..bet you go back many times lol.
