The basin is one of the lovely beached that Rotto has. Crystal clear water and white fine sand. Totally beautiful with facilities close by. Long beach a little further around the island is even more beautiful and a much longer beach though the water is...More

A great ocean swimming hole within walking distance of the settlement. Fab clean water and great place for people learning to snorkel.Yes it can be a bit choppy at times so pick you day. Toilet facilities with fresh water showers.

The Basin is a lovely beach for all ages. But being so close to Thompson bay it's also quite busy. However gorgeous water and stunning colours.

Hard to imagine a more perfect spot on Earth. Sheltered from all but the strongest southerly wind (it rarely blows from the north) this basin is family friendly, pine tree lined, with the whitest sand. A short walk from either Thompsons or Geordie Bay, just...More

Such a beautiful place. The water is so blue. We loved our time here. It is like paradise and there were not too many people.

We had bikes so only a couple of minutes ride from the ferry or about a 10-20 minute walk I would guess. Very protected and great spot for families as the basin is clear and sand is white. Brilliant snorkelling so close to shore. A...More

Beautiful clear blue water, close to the ferry and due to this also crowded at times. Close to restaurants and cafes.
