A trip to this imposing glacier gives you a chance to walk on the ice wearing cleats and to see and hear a truly astounding spectacle: blocks of ice rupturing and floating away as icebergs.

One of the top things I would recommend seeing on a Patagonia trip, and probably the most accessible of all the excursions you can do in the region. Hiking on the glacier was different than anything I've ever done and was so memorable. I believe Hielo y Aventura is the only company running treks on the glacier. They run a... More

The trip out to Perito Moreno was so worth it. It was really beautiful, even my young kids loved it. Although really windy, we had really great weather and the walk around the glacier was enjoyable.

The visit to this Glacier is well worth it. The glacier itself is stunning and getting excellent views is made easier by the walkways. What I wouldn't bother with is the boat trip. It was a waste of time.

Amazing views, and great points of view set by the park. I only wish getting there wasn't as expensive as 450pesos by bus, or a bit less by a cab or rental car. Very impressive, and different than the other glaciers in the area by its magnitude and the huge dam it forms! Recommend for view! A bit expensive, with... More

This really is the only thing around, so if you made it this far, this is the reason to go. You are able to walk right up to it, take a boat by it, and walk across it. The glacier is quite accessible. Lots of the ur companies will take you there.

We had researched this place before our travels, but no books or video clips can do this stunning glacier justice. It is only when seen with the naked eye that you can truly appreciate the scale and beauty of it. The park itself is well suited for vehicles, having smooth concrete roads and also for pedestrians, as they can choose... More

One of the most amazing experiences I have ever had. There is something magical about going to a glacier- hearing the thunderous noise as the ice falls, seeing the icy blue hue of the glacier. Go early in the morning for a view of the glacier on the platforms to avoid the crowds. It can be hard to get good... More

An impressive glaciar, being the third largest glaciar in the park, it is outstanding. It is a most while being in El Calafate.

To begin with, the boat ride to the glacier was great as the white giants with amazing hues of blue and turquoise slowly come to view. The mini-trekking was a unique experience - there will be staff helping you to put on crampons (important that you wear good trekking/sports shoes), a guide to brief you on how to ascend and... Really beautiful trip. Took the bus from central station at 09.00 and return at 16.00 for 450 pesos pr person and 500 for the entrance to the park.
