A trip to this imposing glacier gives you a chance to walk on the ice wearing cleats and to see and hear a truly astounding spectacle: blocks of ice rupturing and floating away as icebergs.

January is a wonderful month to visit. Walking around the man made walkways without coats - could have work Tshirts. On the water though it was a different story. Needed gloves and thermals!

We took a bus there along with other people from hotels in El Calafate. Get to your seat quickly, as the bus driver doesn't wait and seems to enjoy throwing people down the aisle. The glacier itself is amazing. There are walkways that let you get close. It is always cracking and calving. We were fortunate enough to see a... More

It was the first glacier me and my husband have ever seen, it was a amazing experience, we went on the boat that takes you close to the glacier, saw chunks fall off, will definitely go back.

This was one of the best places that I have seen in my life. I went there with my girlfriend, my mother, brother and his gf. Perito Moreno is definitvely one of the top places in my 'must to see list'. We went on a ship trip, which lasts about an hour, but there is an option of a hiking... More

Visited the glacier as part of our trip to Argentina- what an amazing place. An awesome glacier that overtime splits the lake into two with one rising by approximately 4 metres before the water breaks through the glacier. Beautiful and safe walks and viewing places for all visitors- a must trip

Great trip to the glacier, saw lots of calving (about once every 20min). They have platforms really close in which you can stand and watch. A bit of a steep price to get there (bus ticket plus entrance fee is close to 60 USD) but it's an enjoyable way to spend the morning/afternoon. There's two buses you can take, one... More

This impressively large glacier is remarkable for its size and for the several different opportunities offered through which to view it. The National Park has excellent trails with great viewpoints each one offering a different perspective. While you're watching pieces of varying size will loosen and fall to the turquoise-blue glacial river below - making a sound like thunder -... More

As fascinating and spectacular as this is from afar, booking yourself on the big ice trek to walk on this bad boy is an absolute must. Enjoying a whiskey on this glacier is a highlight and you'll be mesmerised by the formations you don't get the see from the viewing platforms.
