Seneca Lake does have more wineries surrounding it than any of the other Finger Lakes, and many of those wineries have great stories to tell about their history! There's always so much to do and see, and we hope you'll be back soon to experience...More

Great weekend trip Many places to taste wine and cheese I personally liked more wines from the east side of the lake. It's simply beautiful in the fall because of the leaves change. Tastes go from $2 to $6. There are places with special sauces...More

The Seneca Lake area, one of the upstate NY Finger Lakes, is beautiful. Get off the freeway early and drive laterally between lakes, to see firsthand this beautiful, hilly terrain. There are may wineries, the oldest of which I think is 30 to 35 years...More

We are planning a trip to the Seneca Lake area at the end of April. We were thinking we might take one of the wine tours so we wouldn't have to drive but that would limit us to what wineries to visit. Question - Would the wineries allow my wife and I to share tastings ? This would allow us to visit more wineries and not worry about drinking to much , it may save us a few dollars and we wouldn't have to be on a strict schedule and just see the wineries they pick out. Thoughts and suggestions ?

Sorry to be late, April was very wet here keeping us busy and offline. The tour is the safest and you should get a nice cross section. Some will ask where you would like to visit. For the tasting rooms that charge I suggest... More

I'm planning a wine tour for a group of 12. How long would allocate at each winery? We are a social group in our late 30s but not obnoxious or boisterous.

That is a great question, and there is no universally accurate answer: time of year, day of the week you're visiting, and a host of other factors play into this. Probably 30-45 minutes per winery is a good estimate. Visit... More

Would like to stop at maybe three wineries on our drive around Seneca Lake. If we limit our winery stops to about three, which ones are the most scenic? Don't care for sweet wines. Also, is which side of lake would be more scenic to drive north, and which side for driving south? Will it take a full day?
